Join Suzanne Miller and Erin Fletcher for our Writers’ Virtual Book Club, in which we read and discuss books for writers!

Next discussion: Dialogue: The Art of Verbal Action for Page, Stage, and Screen by Robert McKee

BONUS: Metal Yoga with Claire! It’s happening. During the discussion of The Creative Habit, we talked about “scratching,” or kickstarting creative thinking and using innovative ways to find new ideas. It was then that Claire (C.M. Rother) mentioned metal yoga. That’s right. The yoga that is good for your body and mind and orchestral versions of the metal music you know and love, combined into one innovative, creativity-inspiring experience.

Claire is a certified yoga instructor and has agreed to teach a metal yoga class for the #WritersVirtualBookClub community before our next discussion! See below for more information about participation in the class.

Saturday, November 13
2:00 p.m. Eastern – Metal Yoga with Claire
3:00 p.m. Eastern – Discussion of Dialogue… by Robert McKee

You can participate in just one event or both. Zoom information will be sent out to the #WritersVirtualBookClub mailing list, so be sure to sign up below if you haven’t yet!

Metal Yoga with Claire FAQ

What Is It?
60 minutes of vinyasa flow to metal/rock music. Vinyasa Flow is a dynamic form of yoga that focuses on both the postures (asanas) and the transitions between the postures, combining individual movements into a flow. You could say that it is a kind of dance. You let your body flow to the rhythm of your breath and in this particular case to the rhythm of selected metal/rock songs.

Is This the Right Thing for Me?
This class combines movement, strength and stretching and is generally suitable for all levels. If you have pre-existing health issues or conditions, please consult with your medical or health care practitioner and obtain full medical clearance prior to attending this class. Though classes are thoughtfully planned, injuries may occur during practice and no responsibility will be taken for it. Attendance of this free class is at your own risk and Claire can’t accept liability for any injury or other damage or loss occurring from your attendance.

Who Is the Teacher?
Claire is a certified vinyasa flow teacher (200YA). She currently teaches online classes and one-on-ones in Germany.

What Do I Need?
A yoga mat, comfortable clothes, a bottle of water, a folded blanket (to sit on/ bolster your knees/ to cover yourself during end-relaxation)

Is There a Cost?
No! Claire has generously agreed to teach the class for free. In lieu of payment, please consider making a donation to Edgar’s Mission, a sanctuary for rescued farm animals.
